Shooting in a live, unscripted environment required detailed pre-production work, especially for audio and camera coverage. Prepping the alumni to engage in meaningful conversations and developing a flexible plan that provided structure while allowing for spontaneity was also crucial to capturing authentic and impactful moments.
Opportunity
The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph was celebrating their 50th anniversary. They wanted to create a video that told a convicting story about the past, present, and future of club kids for the Boys & Girls Clubs’ 50th Gala.
Solution
By filming in a live setting, we captured authentic conversations between club members and alumni. This approach allowed for organic interactions and genuine moments that could have been lost in a scripted environment. We highlighted the powerful impact of mentorship and shared experiences, offering hope to the younger generation by showcasing alumni who, just like them, once walked through the Boys & Girls Clubs doors and are now living their dreams.
