There are factors entirely within your control, and there are factors you might not have control over. There are things you’re aware of that are blocking your progress, and there might even be some things blocking your way that you aren’t aware of.
My goal is that, and I’m doing this, but X is blocking my path.
WHAT’S THE X IN THE WAY?
Once you address and isolate the variable, you’re able to solve the problem and come out with a solution. Please pause to appreciate how math-y we just sounded. Gold star.

Figure out what you have control over and what you don’t, and try to figure out what might be affecting your performance without your knowledge.
