For ideas to spread they need people and places.
People – for the drive to bring something new.
To leave behind the status quo.
To set aside the risk of failure and step forward.
Places – for a favorable environment to grow and spread.
Strong social ties to help the idea spread and be reinforced.
Open and reliable communication available to share its credibility and validity.
PLENTY OF GOOD IDEAS HAVE DIED BECAUSE THEY NEVER REACHED THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
Many more died because they happened in inopportune physical places or temporal places (Periods of time).
The good news is that we have some control over the people in our lives and workplaces, and we also have control over the places we find ourselves in.
Have more intersection among departments. Make a point of asking the opinions of the people who typically don’t speak up. Give time to brainstorm individually before bringing the group together to find solutions.
